A SAPO (FROG) IN BOGOTÀ

- 'Guess what animal.' Gloria challenged me with a smirk. I had been complaining about always being woken by Colombian sunlight shining through light-weight Colombian curtains, so she had surprised me with a regalo (present), an eye mask in the shape of an animal.

A roaring lion. I immediately imagined. Or an elephant or rhinoceros. Definitely some sort of manly jungle animal to cover my eyes and keep me sleeping soundly when dark becomes light in the early hours of a Bogotàn dawn.

- `Wrong.` Gloria shook her head with another smirk.
